Bonjour! C'est moi, renée.
I'm the digital editor at Canadian Living and Style at Home, where I manage the online content (we cover everything from fashion and beauty to home decor and wellness) and social channels (Instagram being my particular jam). Writing and editing stories, planning content and working on sales campaigns are what take up most of my day—oh, and sometimes, I get to travel to fancy cities to report on new products, trends and places.
Before my current position, I was the Canadian editor at MODE Media (née GLAM), where I wrote and edited stories primarily on fashion and beauty. My favourite duty was travelling to New York City for fashion week to report on the shows and interview designers and hair and makeup artists backstage. Unfortunately, the company went under, and took all my work with it. (The articles I wrote for MODE and their original links are still listed on my Work page for the unlikely chance the site will relaunch with all old content preserved.)
And previous to MODE, I was a full-time freelance writer (and I still freelance a bit now), contributing to websites like FASHION Magazine, HGTV and Food Network.
Being an editor has always been a big dream of mine—I began reading magazines obsessively at the age of eleven, starting with CosmoGirl!, before finding my way to Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Now, many moons later, stacks of old issues are piled all around my shoebox apartment, and even though I spend my nine-to-five in the magazine world, I still can't get enough of glossies and the joy they bring me.
My favourite topics to read and write about include personal approaches to style, the latest skin care technology and products, basically anything on goop, and literally anything about the French.
